This will tell you how to get a good balance between the balance of food and activity and will educate you about it. It doesn't really tie in with the "geograpghy" part of my blog, but i found it hard to find stuff relivent to it so i decided i would encorporate other usefull things to do with nutritions into my blog.
Starting off-
Energy balance is another word for calories. Your energy balance is the balance of calories consumed through drinking and eating compared to calories burned through physical activity. What you eat and drink is ENERGY IN, and what you burn through physicial activity is ENERGY OUT.

Some of the science about nutrition and interesting facts :-

Do you know why you need to eat?

Do you ever think about why you eat? The easy answers are because you are hungry tired and your stomach is telling you that you're hungry. Sometimes you might also eat because you are bored, sad etc. just because it's lunchtime, or because the food you want to eat looks so good.
Those are some of the emotional and physical reasons why you eat, but do you ever put much thought into why your body needs food? Not just any food  but healthy, good for you food- Why is good nutrition important? Throughout this post i will tell you some of the reasons why.

Good Nutrition Provides Energy

The foods you eat provide the energy your body needs to function. Just like you need to put fuel in your car, your body needs to be fed energy-providing foods every day. The main form of energy for your body is carbohydrates.
Your body has the easiest time digesting carbohydrates like sugar and starch. Carbohydrates are broken down into individual glucose, fructose or galactose units. Glucose is your body's favorite form of energy. If you don't get enough carbohydrates, your body can make glucose from protein or fat, and if you get too many carbohydrates, your body is very good at storing them as fat.

Good Nutrition Provides Raw Materials

Protein in the foods you eat is broken down into individual amino acids. Your body uses the amino acids to build and repair the different parts of your body. Your muscles contain lots of protein, and you need to restock that protein through your diet. Your body also needs protein for parts of your immune system, hormones, nervous system, and organs.
Another raw material your body needs is Calcium . Calcium has several functions in your body but it's best known as the mineral that is stored in your bones and teeth. You need calcium from your diet to keep your bones and teeth strong.
Your body also needs fats to be healthy. Membranes that contain fats surround all the cells of your body. Your brain has fatty acids, and fats are also needed to signal hormones.

The "Little Helpers"

Vitamins and minerals you get from your diet are just as important as carbohydrates, protein and fats however, you only need them in small amounts. Vitamins and minerals usually function as co enzymes, which means they help chemical reactions in the body happen a lot faster. For example, many of the B complex vitamins help your body burn carbohydrates for energy. Vitamin is needed for vision, zinc is involved in many  processes, and vitamin helps keep connective tissue strong and your immune system functioning.
Your diet needs to provide good amounts of all of these "little helpers." A healthy, balanced diet will provide you with lots of vitamin and minerals. An unhealthy diet may make your body deficient in one or more of these helpers.

A lot of the above was copied and pasted but put into my own words carefully.

Geography ties in with nutrition because all over the world different countries have different types of nutrition. Depending on what country you live in will determine weather you are healthy or not, etc. This is because it will be the common thing to go along with the nutrition that is used by your family/friends, etc. If you are having weight problems, both underweight or overweight it could be related to the nutrition thats considered normal in your country.  You can easily ajust your nutrition to a different countries if you are not happy with the food you're used to, and i will go into more detail on this in my later posts.

explaining the link between geography and nutrition, etc

This blog will give you a very simple but affective way to have proper nutrition, for both gaining weight or loosing weight. It will teach you about the various different food chains and what they really do. I will be posting ways to help you diet right without making huge changes to your diet. Also i will talk about different types of food and what countires they are from, and how they are transported from one country to another

First off I will tell you the types of food that come from different countries etc

Ireland is famous for it's meat as the air in Ireland is good and the cattle, etc are well fed meaning that the meat is better tasting. So we export our meat to other countries and there is a massive meat industry becasue of this. But in Ireland we cannot grow things like oranges, and other types of fruit. This means we have to import them from countires like spain.

So countries around the world import/export their food (exporting their resources) and importing things they do not have. The food industry is world wide and very big, providing a lot of jobs.

In the third world nutrition is very bad as they don't have money to provide good nutrition, yet alone food to survive. Organizations such as concern, etc have been set up to try and help poor coutries such as africa.

Nutrition around the world is very good in some countires, although there is a massive unbalance.

In some countries such as Japan everybody eats small healthy amounts and have very different diets to other countries. Everybody does it and is brought up eating lots of rice, fish etc so its what they eat when they are older. They eat very little meat.

In a lot of european countries we eat a lot of meat, and have a large consumption of food.

People may take nutrition suplements that are deisgned and made mostly from America to gain muscle mass for sports performance or to look better.

Also an easy way to get vitamins instead of having fruit or vegtables all the time is to buy mutivitamines in shops which is a quick dilutatble easy way to get vitamines into your system.

In a lot of countries they would not do the above things as they dont believe it's good for you, and they would only have natural things that they believe are good for you.
Then again in a lot of countries that are big into sports and going to the gym, you would find a lot of them take supliments that have preseratives etc in them and are completely arteficial.
